We've visited this bathroom for online inspiration many times. It's not fancy, but very basic, which is why we like it. If we could redo our apartment's bathroom from the ground up, we'd probably choose something like this, although maybe we'd add some storage and change out the showerhead...
Although it may seem a little boring, we'd love a bungalow-style bath like this in our own home. As much as we enjoy looking at all the options, in the end we're huge fans of white subway tile. It survives trends and can work as the backdrop for several different looks.
The pedestal sink is also a look we love. It doesn't provide the storage of a built-in cabinet, but the lines don't add bulk to a small space. For storage, this bathroom has a linen closet next to the sink - a nice bonus.
Hexagonal tiles on the floor are a natural compliment to subway tile walls. We have hex tiles in our bathroom now, and they're very difficult to clean, but we've heard that this is due to the fact that our pre-war building has unglazed tiles which were common at the time. If hex tiles are glazed, it is supposed to make cleaning easier.
The top half of the walls can be painted to add color to the bathroom, and new accessories can also add some punch. The tile remains a constant, while these details can be changed to update the bathroom over time.
We like the niche in the shower tile - a good small storage spot for bath products - but we'd definitely spring for a large, flat shower head. We're fans of the small amount of grid tile, and the simplicity of these options means that they can be found for reasonable prices just about anywhere.
